Obtaining a diagnosis of major depressive disorder in elderly patients can be complicated by grief, transient comorbidities like Seasonal Affective Disorder, or more chronic conditions like dementia. Do you feel current guidelines are sufficiently detailed for most physicians to accurately diagnose elderly patients with MDD?
